I recently started writing little tidbits about my papers with my status updates. And then I got another idea. Why not profile or highlight my papers regularly to "get the word out" on projects that could be funded?  Hopefully, sponsors out there would fund/sponsor one or more of my research. STATUS: I just returned from church. I will now continue working on my paper (due today). I am worried that I will not meet the deadline because there is so much to do. A reminder that my papers do not write themselves!

When I started working on the following paper for the IT Management course, I really believed diagrams were always better than written explanations. By the end of the paper, I was not so sure. I liked the BPMN diagram in the paper (I learned some BPMN at a previous job). But, I actually liked my written explanation better.

INTERESTING TIDBIT:
The papers I prepared for the Research Methods course touched on a lot of topics/areas. The following paper touched on compensation, performance and IT.  It reminds me of UofGuy economics and econometrics. (I liked lags/lagging since back then. I used lags in one of the papers.)

In May/June 2016, after much thought, I decided to expand on a paper on Project Management & Project Success for the final signature assignment for my NCU IT Management course. I liked several other options, such as a paper on website design and customer complaints (see: http://moorefo1designresearch.blogspot.com/2016/08/). Maybe it was the paper on 7 key factors that determine project success (a paper I found in the prior week) that caused me to select that topic. That paper reminded me of my 7Ps for Success.

STATUS: I am about to start working on the paper for this week. I have lots of time to complete. I don't expect an unusual rush/hurry to complete this week's paper like I did for last week's paper (link: http://itdatacommmoorefo1.blogspot.com/2017/04/week1-assignment-completed.html). I got a lot done - 2016 txaes filed and so on.

INTERESTING TIDBIT:

People usually can identify the artist or designer behind a "piece" of art or design. For example, a lot of people can identify designer Frank Lloyd Wright from his home designs. His work is "different". The work of artists and designers also "tell" or "say" a lot about them - in different ways. The artist may be sad or angry or bold.

I tried to create a Pinterest designer profile that says a lot about me (reflects my background, style, interests - sort of the way my school papers reflect my background or my clothes/outfits/selections say a lot about me). A lot of the details are from my background. What do you think?

Easter Monday

It is Easter Monday! In the past, I spent Easter Monday flying my kite made by my father (that was so long ago, in Linden, Guyana - https://www.pinterest.com/fahmeenaodetta/linden-my-hometown/). My grandmother sometimes made cross buns.

Responding to prompts and challenges

Today, I decided to respond to the one-word prompt UNRAVEL by the Daily Post. I wrote a short response (view here: https://fahmeenaodetta1.wordpress.com/dailypostchallenges/). I didn't want to add too much "personal" details. I experienced quite a bit of unraveling in the past.

It is coincidence that a major news story today is: a customer incident at United Airlines that caused a bit of trouble (and "unraveling") for the airline.

Interesting series by Benny Hinn

I just noticed an interesting series by Benny Hinn - The Names and Nature of God. I will review the details when I have time.

I attended a Benny Hinn crusade/conference over 5 years ago in Baltimore. A friend recommended it (and it was good!). That was a long time ago - I was not feeling well and really needed to go out more. I remember taking a break during the conference to get some air.

Benny Hinn. Did you notice that his each of his names has double letters - like mine?

Course starts today

My new course starts today. Hopefully, I don't need a textbook. I am still "looking around" StumbleUpon to learn more about the platform. Today, I created a new account - moorefo1quad (the idea for stuff in the account came from a quadratic equation, which has two solutions). I am adding websites/links and tags at this time.

I just discovered that some websites/links cannot be added. This is an example:

(Past blog post on my Pascal program to solve simultaneous equations - for UOLondon GCE O Level, external examinations. I received a B for the projects completed prior to the "actual" examination, C for the subject/course overall - disappointing. I had fun with that program once I figured out what I needed to do.)

I am about to set up for the new course - create a new blog, create a new project in Research Gate, and so on. This time I will add StumbleUpon to the mix. (I created StumbleUpon accounts recently to learn more about the platform.) Right now, I am not sure how I will use StumbleUpon. Maybe I'll add each paper to an account that now contains a few papers from LinkedIn. That depends on what I learn about tagging and folder creation in StumbleUpon over the next few hours/days.

Account access issues

I had trouble accessing accounts at NCU yesterday. My delay in accessing/setting up the new NCUOne account may be the cause. Today, I logged into the new NCU One account, accepted a new course, and so on. Then, I tried to login using the old way and could not. My guess is that the university implemented single sign-on (I sent an email. I should learn more soon.).

It is April!

It is a new month - April 2017! I am about to look into my next course. I expect the new course will run from April through June 2017. Then, I'll need to move. It could be a move to another apartment here at Cabana Beach, to a new apartment community, to a new country etc. (I did not renew the lease for my current room. If I do sign/renew a lease, it will be for a new room/apartment. This means I will have to move.)

Hopefully, I will move to another country. I prayed (at church yesterday & also continue to pray) that Almighty God will open the right door - and lead me down the correct path. It could be a move for a job in another country or for school in another country or for some other reason. I am confident that things will work out.

In the meantime, I will try to earn some income. Hopefully, people will contact me about design or other projects. I don't expect much income from The Lessons Project (http://lifelessonsforall-com.blogspot.com/). I also plan to look into other temporary jobs.

I chose the professor path/career primarily because of stability. Most professors I know work continuously and work well into their old age. Another benefit: I expect to use a lot of the business background I have. For a while, I was "stuck" in a technical area (and that is all I will say about that).
