Daily Prompt 5/5

I spent some time writing a response to today's one-word prompt at dailypost.wordpress.com. (See my page: https://fahmeenaodetta1.wordpress.com/dailypostchallenges/ for the post). I also have to work on my "Our God the Rock" bible study.

I like today's verse of the day at BibleGateway.com:

Good day

Today started a little shaky, but turned out great. I made a lot of progress on my signature assignment (I made important edits, added about 2 pages, and so on - see http://qualresearchdesignmoorefo1.blogspot.com/2017/03/end-of-work-for-today.html and http://qualresearchdesignmoorefo1.blogspot.com/2017/03/currently-working.html).

I like the field nearby (see https://www.facebook.com/fahmeena.moore/posts/10212199154312285). I can go out there to relax, think, "take in some sun," and so on.

Video of the field: https://youtu.be/VPWK1-m9EL8.

I am now reading the verses for today from the God Our Rock bible reading challenge. The verses are very interesting. Almighty God is very angry and will punish the nation in the worst way (even make other nations do really well so that the people are envious). It seems to me that Almighty God is angry because the people abandoned him and because of a whole lot more...maybe the behavior went on for a long while. Maybe the "whole lot more" is the real reason he is angry. I am reminded of the story of the prodigal son who abandoned his father. When the son returned, the father welcomed him with open arms. He was not an angry father who wanted to punish his son in the worst way.

It is interesting that the highlighted bible verse today (verse of the day) on BibleGateway.com is Jeremiah 17:7-8. I used that quote on my social media profiles for a while. I need to add it to my list of favorite verses.

Prayer Bible Study

I reviewed the remaining verses from the 31-day prayer challenge. There was not much new information. Luke 11:13 has the example prayer from Jesus (on how to pray to his heavenly father - Almighty God). All in all, the challenge was excellent! I learned a lot. I hope I remember all those verses!

Maybe I'll write an article on prayer...what I learned.

New Year

It is 1/1/2017 - the first day of the new year! I did not ring in (or celebrate) the new year in a special way. I was not at a party or special event. I did not even watch the countdown on tv. And, the first day was very busy. I completed and submitted an assignment & completed other work. I just completed Day 8 of the 31-day scripture writing challenge on prayer I am taking & added it to Pinterest.

Day 8 on Prayer. Very interesting.
My note: Matthew 6 is full of information on how to pray - pray in secret, do not use many words etc. "Many words" - I think this means there is no need for long prayers that include certain "cookie-cutter" details, that repeat the same things over and over, are complex, or are polished/enhanced to seem smart. Your prayers should reflect you - your style and personality. (FahmeenaOdetta)

2017 is off to a great start! I expect it to be a very busy year. In 2017, I will continue to march towards that PhD.

Day 1

I decided to learn more about the Holy Bible and prayer by following a 31-day scripture writing challenge I found in Pinterest. I just completed the verses for Day 1.
