Linden Technical Training School

While hunting for a professor/lecturer/instructor position, I ran across an institution I am very familiar with - the Linden Technical Training/Trade School. The building looked really old  (in need of repairs). "I hope they didn't forget about that place," I thought. I decided to take a closer look because I know how important that institution was. Some of my family members learned the electrical "trade" at that school to qualify for a job at the bauxite company. For my A-level Statistics project, I collected information from students at that school via a survey. I even signed up for the theory part of driver training at that school. It looks like there is (or was) a project to repair and revive the school. I will obtain additional information.

Know yourself, Celebrate your background

A thought about knowing yourself.....

I clearly remember wanting to go fruit picking during pastorial sessions, as other classmates/batchmates did. The pastorial parents who took their pastorial children to pick jamun and mangoes seemed cool and fun. (Actually, I think I tagged along with another parent/teacher once).
Rambo introduced pacman later and I enjoyed that! Maybe I didn't know myself really well back then.

Updated radio station links in this blog

I am on a "break" from school...just for a few days. I will look into my next course (email the Academic Advisor, talk finances with the Financial Aid advisor, and so on) soon.

I spent some time working on my Pinterest profiles. I added boards/categories such as: Gray/Grey, Unflattering, and Controlling. I updated the radio station list included in this blog (as shown in the image below). That was interesting. The Guyanese radio stations made me think of radio history in Guyana. I remember:
- listening to a version of psalm 23 (The Lord is my shepherd) on the radio at 6:00 am every day. Six am was the time to get up for children in our house. I really like that version of the psalm. I sing it from time to time, but can't find it anywhere (here). Not finding that song is interesting because I find a lot of things - I even found that 'Morning has broken' song my mother taught me.
- the change from one radio station to two and a contest to name the stations. I believe the final names were: Voice of Guyana and Radio Roraima.
